Restaurant services

The Riiho Guest House offers catering services for regular occasions and special events.

We make your event a tasty one. We have long experience in catering services, and will help you plan the perfect menu for family events, weddings and other special occasions. We also organise memorial events with great care and consideration.

Our tasty food and fresh delicacies and coffee give you energy for meetings and training days. We also have special menus for sauna evenings.

Our Guest House accommodates around 130 dinner guests at a time.

For courses and camps, we offer full board by agreement.

We are open by reservation.

Delicacies from scratch

Ingredients:
  • We favour Finnish ingredients
  • We don’t use processed foods
  • We make everything from scratch in our own kitchen
  • We bake every day
  • We seek to source all ingredients locally
  • Our potatoes come from the Tulijoki farm in Ruovesi
  • We smoke our own fish
  • Our cabbage rolls come from Vaissi Oy, our neighbour
  • Our sauerkraut and tinned food come from the Taatila farm
  • Our strawberries are grown in our village
  • We pick our own bilberries, lingonberries and raspberries
  • Our apples come from next door
  • We prepare our jams in our own kitchen
  • We pick our mushrooms ourselves in the forest
  • We grow our blackcurrants and redcurrants in our own yard

Facilities for regular events and special occasions

The Riiho Guest House has facilities for many types of events. Our meeting facilities accommodate around 40 people at a time. We have additional facilities for festive occasions as required. We have room for around 120 people in total when all our event rooms are being used. We always have a play area for children.

Food for every palate

It is important to us that our guests enjoy themselves. Food that meets your dietary requirements is an essential part of this. All our food is lactose-free. We also take special dietary requirements into account. We bake everything ourselves, so we also have freshly baked bread and pastries for people on a gluten-free diet.

Full board

Tasty food is an important part of a course or camp. Our full board includes breakfast, lunch, afternoon coffee, dinner and an evening snack. The evening snack is prepared during the day and is waiting in the kitchen for guests to serve themselves. We can fully accommodate our guests’ schedules. If needed, food can also be served outdoors or in a natural environment.

Catering

Do you need help with catering for a banquet, meeting or other event? The Riiho Guest House’s tasty food and delicious pastries can also be ordered to be served outside the Guest House. You can collect your order at the Guest House, or we can deliver to an address you provide. If necessary, we can take care of the entire event. Ask for a quote!

Beverages

We serve milk, water and juice with meals, and traditional Finnish homemade beer and soft drinks are also available if agreed. At festive events, we can also serve alcoholic beverages purchased by the guests.

We take food seriously

But not too seriously! We have a long tradition of serving pure, delicious country cooking made from ingredients from Finnish fields and forests. We purchase ingredients from local farmers known to us and pick berries and mushrooms in areas with centuries of tradition. We make jam and juice from berries, and preserves and pickle from mushrooms and vegetables. These delicacies are stored on the well-organised shelves of our cellar. We prepare all our food from scratch in our kitchen. We also delight our guests with baking. Hospitality has been important to us for generations, and an abundant table of delicious food is an important part of hospitality.
